What happened
Domtar said on February 16, 2026 that its Calhoun, Tennessee site began installing a new high-speed tissue converting line. The company said the project is intended to raise output, improve efficiency, and support future scale.
Site scope
Domtar also said it is expanding warehouse space for parent tissue rolls at Calhoun. The project is meant to align tissue production capacity more closely with converting capability at the site.
Why it matters
For tissue converters, this is a clear example of North American producers investing in downstream finishing rather than only base-sheet capacity. It also points to continued pressure to improve service levels and operating flexibility in the US tissue market.
