What happened
Sofidel said on March 11, 2026 that it finalized the details of a $775 million expansion at its Inola, Oklahoma integrated facility. The project supports the group's continued buildup in the United States.
Project scope
Sofidel said the plan includes a new building for a 75,000-tonne-per-year Valmet TAD tissue machine, converting lines with matching finished-goods capacity, expanded pulp and parent reel storage, and a fully automated finished-goods warehouse with 100,000 pallet positions.
Why it matters
This is a large-scale North American tissue investment that combines base paper, converting, and logistics in one site plan. For equipment and material suppliers, it shows that premium tissue capacity and automation spending remain active in the US South.
